China News Network, Hunan News, October 12 — The China Industrial Overseas Development Association and the Sichuan Belt and Road Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Association — two professional organizations dedicated to advancing China's industrial expansion overseas and deepening economic and trade cooperation along the Belt and Road — jointly formed an inspection team. They traveled specifically to Liuyang, the world-renowned hometown of fireworks, celebrated for its “river of poetry and paintings, city filled with fireworks.”
The delegation's sole objective in Liuyang was clear: to fully support the expansion of Liuyang fireworks into overseas markets, enabling this uniquely Chinese industry to shine even brighter on the global stage. During their week-long in-depth inspection, the delegation visited multiple fireworks production facilities across Liuyang.
Upon entering the video monitoring room of one factory, the team was astonished by hundreds of densely packed surveillance platforms—even a single box of fireworks placed improperly could be clearly detected through the monitors. The delegation marveled: “The oversight in Liuyang's fireworks factories is astonishingly meticulous!”
Next, the team visited a large factory specializing in molding fireworks bases. Upon entering the factory grounds, they saw pyrotechnic bases as neat and uniform as blocks of tofu being methodically transported from production machinery. Forklifts moved orderly through the space, transferring stacks of bases to designated areas... After careful observation, team member Li Weiwei inquired curiously, “Why do these bases look like they're made of ‘flour’?” “ Staff explained that these bases were formed by mixing cassava flour with paper pulp, heating it at high temperatures, and then molding it through large machinery. Li Weiwei of the China Industrial Overseas Development Association added, ”Leveraging our commodity import channels, we can secure more favorable cassava flour procurement prices for enterprises, which greatly benefits fireworks companies in precisely controlling production costs." What delighted Zhang Hong, Deputy Secretary-General of the association, even more was that these firework bases are made from pure biodegradable materials, combining environmental attributes. “With this ‘eco-friendly’ advantage, we can promote Liuyang fireworks to overseas markets with greater persuasiveness, allowing foreigners to see China's green development philosophy in fireworks.”
